The Russian delegation has made an official business visit to Uzbekistan.
01.02.2021On January 14, 2021, a Cooperation Agreement was signed between the The Federal State Institution «State Institute of Drugs and Good Practices» (FSI "SID&GP") of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade and the National Agency for Pharmaceutical Products of Algeria. This week also saw Algeria become the first African country to register the Russian coronavirus vaccine "Sputnik V".
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in spring 2020, this marks the second agreement signed online by the Russian regulatory authority with a foreign counterpart, reflecting the now-standard format of international business interactions. The signing ceremony was attended by Vladislav Shestakov, Director of FSI "SID&GP", and Professor Kamel Mansouri, Director General of Algeria's National Agency for Pharmaceutical Products. FSI "SID&GP" became the first foreign regulatory authority to enter into such a cooperation agreement with the Algerian Agency.
"We had been negotiating this agreement since last year. It's particularly noteworthy that just days ago Algeria became the first African country to register the Russian 'Sputnik V' vaccine," noted Vladislav Shestakov at the opening of the meeting. "In the current environment, it's crucial to combine efforts, strengthen bilateral cooperation, and remain open to partnership. We highly value becoming the first foreign regulatory authority to sign such an agreement with the National Agency."
The long-term cooperation agreement provides for: - Joint training programs - Information exchange to ensure proper medicine quality - Mutual observation of GMP inspections
Additionally, Director Shestakov personally invited representatives of the Algerian regulatory authority to serve as experts at the annual GMP Conference scheduled for fall 2021.
