23.06.2021This week, a Russian delegation conducted an official business visit to Uzbekistan. The delegation included representatives from the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Russian Ministry of Health, The Federal State Institution «State Institute of Drugs and Good Practices» (FSI "SID&GP") of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, as well as Russian pharmaceutical companies.
The visit's objectives included touring Uzbek pharmaceutical facilities and discussing bilateral cooperation in the pharmaceutical industry.
The Russian delegation comprised: - Elena Vladimirovna Denisova, Deputy Director of the Department of Pharmaceutical and Medical Industry Development at the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade - Natalia Nikolaevna Chadova, Head of the Drug Manufacturing Inspection and Expertise Department at FSI "SID&GP" - Vyacheslav Viktorovich Goryachkin, Head of the Good Practices Department - Representatives from pharmaceutical companies
During the three-day visit, the delegation: - Visited the Tashkent Pharma Park research and production cluster - Held meetings with Uzbek distribution company executives - Tourned production facilities of local pharmaceutical manufacturers
Russian GMP inspectors conducted several meetings regarding mutual cooperation with: - The Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency of Uzbekistan - The State Center for Expertise and Standardization of Medicines, Medical Devices and Equipment of Uzbekistan
"We're pleased to resume business trips and in-person meetings with foreign pharmaceutical executives and regulators," stated Elena Denisova during the visit. "Nothing replaces face-to-face communication and the opportunity to personally inspect production facilities, despite the availability of advanced communication technologies."
Key trade statistics: - 2020 (Q1-Q3): • 58.6 million packages exported (+6.3% vs 2019) • RUB 3.44 billion in value (+60.8% vs 2019) - 2019: • 78.9 million packages (-17.2% vs 2018) • RUB 3.4 billion in value (+14.8% vs 2018) - 255 INNs exported over three years (~346 brand names)
"For us as Russian GMP inspectors, visiting foreign production sites and interacting with international inspectors is particularly valuable," noted Natalia Chadova. "We already know our Uzbek colleagues from their participation in the 4th All-Russian GMP Conference in 2019. I'm confident we'll continue implementing joint projects in both education and inspection."
