17.04.2022On September 22-24, 2021, the 6th All-Russian GMP Conference with international participation was held, with the in-person segment taking place at the Park Inn by Radisson Pribaltiyskaya hotel in St. Petersburg. The conference addressed and resolved current issues pertaining to the Russian pharmaceutical market. The 6th All-Russian GMP Conference commenced with a plenary session under the motto "Strong Regulator - Strong Industry".
On September 24, 2021, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade together with the Federal State Institution «State Institute of Drugs and Good Practices» (FSI "SID&GP") conducted the 6th All-Russian GMP Conference with international participation. The event brought together over 80 speakers and experts, including 23 international participants, 487 in-person attendees, and more than 2,000 online viewers from 42 countries worldwide.

The conference attendees were welcomed by the GMP Conference organizers: Dmitry Sergeevich Galkin, Director of the Department of Pharmaceutical and Medical Industry Development at the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, and Vladislav Nikolaevich Shestakov, Director of the Federal State Institution «State Institute of Drugs and Good Practices» (FSI "SID&GP") of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade.

Summarizing the series of speakers' presentations, the moderators expressed a consensus view that there is currently no doubt about the necessity of a balanced, reasonable approach at all stages of the drug lifecycle. Regulatory authorities are called upon to promote best practices that ensure healthcare needs are met with high-quality and safe products.
Following the plenary session, several important agreements were signed. Anatoly Anatolyevich Levko, General Director of the National Center for Reference Materials, and Alexey Nikolaevich Fedorov, Director of the Federal Research Center "Fundamentals of Biotechnology" of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Russia's leading scientific organization in biotechnology development), signed an agreement on developing reference standards for biotechnological medicines. This agreement on creating such high-tech reference materials holds particular significance for the Russian pharmaceutical industry.
