26.09.2025In honor of World Pharmacists Day on September 25, the team at the National Center for Standard Samples (NCSS) held a seminar on the topic of «Health Care and Safe Use of Popular Medications». This event highlighted the importance of maintaining the health of everyone who cares for the well-being of society every day.
The seminar was conducted by Dmitry Andreevich Chepilo, head of the Testing Laboratory at the NCSS. He shared valuable insights on how to maintain well-being, support the immune system, protect oneself from viruses and infections, and also discussed the rules for taking medications in case of discomfort or the appearance of specific disease symptoms. Dmitry Andreevich emphasized that not all well-known over-the-counter drugs used for first aid contribute to recovery.
Participants actively engaged in discussions about the appropriateness of using certain medications and took note of the main rules for the use of popular drugs such as paracetamol and ibuprofen.
The seminar leader also touched on the topic of vitamin complexes vitamin C can strengthen the immune system, but it is important to avoid its excess. The same applies to other vitamin supplements: it is necessary to know what the deficiencies are and to follow the recommendations of doctors and pharmacists.
Dmitry Andreevich paid special attention to the main rules for the prevention of viral infections, which are particularly relevant in office settings. He offered simple yet effective recommendations:
- Do not forget about a balanced diet rich in vitamins and microelements.
- Maintain a proper sleep schedule and ensure regular rest.
- Pay attention to hygiene: wash hands regularly, use antiseptic solutions, and wet wipes.
- Regularly ventilate rooms, as air circulation reduces the concentration of viruses and bacteria.
